Role Requirements:

  • Visa/Status: F Visa, or Korean Citizenship
  • Background checks & work-related documents based on nationality and country of origin
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in education at international programs or other school settings
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education or degrees related to education

Role Description:

The contract for this role begins August 2025 and ends on August 2027 and includes Summer Camp duties. We will be starting interviews as we receive candidates either virtually, on GoogleMeet, with the School Principal and General Manager, or, preferably, in person. We will close the position once it is filled.

Basic Responsibilities Overview:

  • Follow the format and expectations provided by SPAS to create a syllabus, unit plans, rubrics, and weekly lesson plans for students
  • Plan regular and consistent homework assignments and provide feedback/corrections
  • Create tests and projects to measure and ensure student learning
  • Prepare progress reports and report cards at the end of each term
  • Attend and participate in faculty and staff meetings
  • Take part in PTCs and speak/discuss with parents regarding their children using school/classroom data
  • Attend official SPAS functions as outlined on the calendar

This opening is for a G1 Homeroom Teacher position on our Dongtan Campus.

Work Day: 7:40 AM - 4:40 PM
Once a week: -4:50PM for Staff Meetings
Weekly Student Contact Hours: 25
Class Hours: 20
ASAs & Lunch Duties: Included in Contact Hours
Regular Collaborations: Grade-level PLCs and alignment PLCs
Contract Term: 2 years
Mid-contract Performance Review and end of contract Full Review

Standards: Common Core ELA, NGSS, AERO Social Studies, Common Core Mathematics

  • The core SPAS standards are used to assess students on a Standards-Based Grading system
  • The G1 role is tasked with classes in Math, Science, ELA, and Social Studies
  • Homeroom Morning Meeting, SEL Check-Ins, & Closing Circle duties
  • Weekly lesson plans and LMS updates

Reports To: Vice Principal, Dean of Students, Counselor & Curriculum Coordinator

SPAS Homeroom teachers are paired with a grade-level partner and meet regularly in PLCs to exchange ideas, plan together, and cooperate on lesson design. Candidates in this role are expected to be proactive when communicating with parents via email, have strong organizational habits for lesson plan design and record keeping, and have a practiced and proven system of student management for both positive and negative systems in the classroom.
