


Swim Teacher with Substitute Teacher Responsibilities

Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging swimming lessons for children aged 3 to 10 years.
- Teach water safety, basic swimming strokes, and confidence in the water.
- Adapt lessons to meet students' developmental stages and skill levels.
- Work closely with surf instructors to align water safety and aquatic skills with the broader surf curriculum.
- Monitor students' progress and maintain records.
- Ensure a safe and positive environment during all aquatic activities.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and parents about student progress.
- Supervise children in and around the pool, maintaining high safety standards.
Requirements
- Certified Swim Instructor (Red Cross, YMCA, ASCA, or equivalent).
- CPR and First Aid certification (child and adult).
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience with children (preferably early childhood and/or primary).
- Basic understanding of child development and learning styles.
- Ability to manage small groups safely and effectively.

- Creativity to make lessons fun and engaging.
- Observant and safety-conscious at all times.
- Team-oriented, especially in coordination with the surf and sports program.
