The School House Early Childhood Education program focuses on hands-on activities and creative play, immersing children in a language-rich environment. Your Teaching Mission
- Facilitate student learning and create engaging, caring, and screen-free learning environments for students in a mixed-grade classroom with support from an assistant teacher
- Work as a part of a team with other school members to support in implementing curricular objectives and meeting school goals.
- Provide stimulating learning opportunities for students and contribute to the culture of the school.
- Monitor and guide students’ social-emotional development and academic learning.
- Participate in ongoing professional development designed to continually improve services to students and families.
Your Framework Duties
- Create weekly lesson plans
- Preparation of the classroom before students arrive
- Receive students & welcome them to your classroom
- Connect with parents quickly during drop-off
- Breakfast-, Lunch-, Afternoon Snack Duties
- Transition students to sports classes and receive them back
- Willingness to accompany and participate in sports classes occasionally
- Maintain necessary communication with the parents via SchoolStatus Connect throughout the day
- Maintain necessary communication with the head of school throughout the day
- Daily Feedback Round with assistant teacher
- Wrap up the classroom and report maintenance or cleaning issues
These framework duties are shared with the assistant teacher.
Communication & Administration
- Initiate and lead all parent communication
- Bi-weekly meeting with the Director
- Monthly meetings with coaches for sports or administrative and supportive staff
- Bi-annual parent-teacher conferences
- Participate in the project team for the International Certification through COGNIA
- Participate in family engagement events
- Contribute to professional development workshops
- Taking ownership and being hands-on
