Candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science and/or related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of two years experience in the same field in an educational setting.
  • Experience in the use of integrated Library Management Systems.
  • Fluent in English & Arabic languages written and speaking.
  • Excellent IT skills, Organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to positively deal with students.

Responsibilities:

  • Respect students and treat them in a way that makes them feel secure, develop their personality, give them value, nurture their talents, instill a love of knowledge in them, teach them benevolent behavior, and reinforce their integrity and self-confidence.
  • Manage the Library used to meet the educational goals of the INP schools. Handle all the library duties (cataloguing & classifying all the new arrival books and other duties).
  • Provide support to teachers, Lead teachers to improve and enhance the Library’s learning environment.
  • Develop in collaboration with vice principals the development of a high-quality library information literacy program, reference services, and collection development.
  • Engage with teaching staff to develop a plan that targets the benefit of library and student autonomy and the benefit from reading.
  • Coordinate and plan with teachers different activities for the students according to their grade level that include training students and supporting them with their research process by using library books and online research properly and efficiently.
  • Assist and train students in the development of information literacy & lifelong learning skills.
  • Encourage students to participate in reading competitions arranged by the school, MoE, KHDA/ADEK, or other associations.
  • Manage & organize the school book fair (choosing the publishers, arranging the class visits, sending invitations to parents...).
  • Be familiar with the educational vocabulary to be able to propose and choose books and resources and course materials that help students and teachers make full use of the library.
  • Create an action plan to best utilize and promote the library’s digital resources and actively seek out new relevant databases and other electronic resources that support the INPS teachers and students.
  • Announce all new books and magazines related to lessons and suggest them to the teachers for guidance and reference in the preparation of lessons and to guide the students to refer to certain topics.
  • Develop the budget, as well as plan, develop, and deliver library services and other administrative duties as needed
  • Participate in the school activities planning committee and collaborate with other school events.
  • Be responsible for the implementation of external and internal borrowing in the library.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Administration
  • Liaise closely with faculty, students, and staff to determine how best to meet their needs and market services to meet those needs.
  • Supervise students during the morning assembly, break time, between classes, and before and after school hours and take necessary actions against undisciplined ones.
  • Advise the Vice Principal on all matters relating to the library as well as student affairs and school-wide discipline.
  • Other responsibilities/tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Be responsible for the day‐to‐day operations of the Library, ensuring collection availability and development, supported by service provision, in meeting the information needs of staff and students including:
  • Maintaining the library neat and organized for the users.
  • Following up on the library Security and Safety.
  • Keeping an accurate record of all borrowing actions during the year.
  • Maintaining the library inventory and supervising the delivery and receipt of books
