Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience working in a school library, preferably within an IB program.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to create a warm and inviting library environment.
  • Passion for singing and reading out loud to students.
  • Familiar with library management systems and digital resources.
  • Commitment to fostering a love for reading and lifelong learning in students.
  • Immigration fees (we will make the arrangements, and fees will be covered by MIS). We will ask you to cover the expenses for going to your nearest Mexican embassy and to have an apostille on your Diploma.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic IB Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in library science and a love for fostering literacy and inquiry. Beyond the traditional role of a librarian, we are looking for someone who enjoys singing and reading out loud to students, creating a vibrant and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the school library, ensuring it is a welcoming and resourceful space for all students and staff.
  • Support the IB curriculum by providing access to a wide range of resources, including books, digital media, and other educational materials.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the IB units of inquiry.
  • Conduct engaging read-aloud sessions and musical storytimes to promote literacy and a love for reading.
  • Develop and implement library programs and activities that support student learning and engagement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere in the library, encouraging students to explore and discover new interests.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in developing research skills and utilizing library resources effectively.
  • Stay current with advancements in library science and educational technology to continually enhance the library's offerings.
