Qualifications and Requirements:
- A degree in Early Childhood Education, Education Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in early years education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of early childhood pedagogy and developmental milestones.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Russian or Uzbek is an asset.
- Familiarity with the Canadian education system is highly desirable.

We are seeking a visionary and dedicated Head of Early Years to spearhead our early years program.
Maple Bear Canadian School Uzbekistan opened in August of 2024. Our Early Years currently consists of one class each of Toddler, Nursery, Junior, and Senior Kindergarten, with the expectation of growth in 2025-2026.
The position is currently open for the 2024-2025 school year. We have an interim Principal in place but are seeking someone to continue in the leadership role as early as possible. We are open to discussion of a suitable start date with the appropriate candidate.
Position Overview:
The Head of Early Years will play a critical role in shaping and leading our early childhood education program. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the curriculum staff development and ensuring the delivery of an exceptional learning environment aligned with Maple Bear's Canadian education standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Provide strategic leadership and operational management for the early years program, ensuring compliance with Maple Bear standards and local educational regulations.
- Curriculum Oversight: Implement and adapt the Maple Bear Canadian early childhood curriculum to meet the needs of students while fostering creativity, exploration, and critical thinking.
- Staff Development: Recruit, train, and mentor early years teachers, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence in teaching practices.
- Student Engagement: Ensure the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
- Parental Communication: Build strong relationships with parents, provide regular updates on student progress, and foster a collaborative home-school partnership.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate teaching quality and student outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
- Cultural Integration: Promote cultural awareness and understanding within the school community, reflecting both Canadian and Uzbek values.
