KIA is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous English instruction to students in grades 9-12, including Advanced Placement (AP) English courses. The teacher will foster a student-centered learning environment that promotes critical thinking, effective communication, and a love of literature.
Responsibilities:
- Teach a range of high school English courses, including but not limited to:
- 9th-grade English
- 10th-grade English
- 11th-grade English
- AP English Language and Composition
- AP English Literature and Composition
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the American Common Core Standards and AP curriculum.
- Assess student learning through a variety of methods, including essays, exams, projects, and presentations.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.
- Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
- Utilize technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in English education.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Uphold the school's mission and values.
