High School Physics and Chemistry Teacher

KIA is seeking a highly qualified and passionate High School Physics and Chemistry Teacher to join our dynamic science department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous instruction in both physics and chemistry to students in grades 9-12, potentially including Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The teacher will foster a student-centered learning environment that promotes scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of the physical world.

Responsibilities:

• Teach a range of high school physics and chemistry courses, including but not limited to:
• Physics
• AP Physics 1
• Chemistry
• AP Chemistry
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the American Next Generation Science Standards and AP curriculum.
• Conduct laboratory experiments and demonstrations that reinforce concepts and develop students' experimental skills.
• Assess student learning through a variety of methods, including lab reports, quizzes, exams, projects, and presentations.
• Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth in both physics and chemistry.
• Create a safe and stimulating laboratory environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
• Utilize technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning, including simulations, data analysis tools, and online resources.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide STEM initiatives and integrate science across the curriculum.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in science education.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
• Uphold the school's mission and values.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring a safe and functional learning environment.
