Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Earth & Space and Engineering & Design Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching students the fundamental concepts of Earth sciences, space exploration, and engineering design principles while fostering a hands-on, inquiry-based learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans that cover essential topics in Earth and Space sciences, as well as engineering and design principles.
- Ensure the curriculum aligns with state and national science standards, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Instruction:
- Deliver high-quality instruction in Earth science topics such as geology, meteorology, oceanography, astronomy, and environmental science.
- Teach engineering design principles, encouraging students to engage in the engineering process, including defining problems, conducting research, brainstorming, prototyping, and testing solutions.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and application of scientific and engineering concepts.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their performance and guide them in improving their skills.
Student Support:
- Foster a collaborative classroom environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and experimentation.
- Support students in developing skills for scientific inquiry and engineering design, including communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Professional Development:
- Stay informed about the latest developments in Earth and Space sciences, as well as engineering education, by participating in professional development opportunities.
