Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced AP English Language & Composition Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching advanced writing and analytical skills, preparing students for success in the AP exam and their future academic endeavors.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
- Design and implement a rigorous curriculum that aligns with the AP English Language & Composition course requirements and standards.
- Incorporate a diverse range of texts, including non-fiction, rhetorical analyses, and contemporary literature, to deepen student understanding of language and composition.
Instruction:
- Deliver high-quality instruction focused on developing students' writing skills, critical reading, and analytical thinking.
- Utilize various teaching methodologies, including discussions, collaborative projects, and writing workshops, to engage students in the learning process.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding of course material.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on student writing, helping them to refine their skills and prepare for the AP exam.
Student Support:
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence in their writing abilities.
- Offer additional resources and support for students who may need extra help in mastering the curriculum and exam content.
Professional Development:
- Stay current on developments in AP English Language & Composition and best teaching practices by participating in professional development opportunities.
