Responsibilities:

  • Ensure students are learning and producing work.
  • Ensure SEN & Low-level learners receive the needed support.
  • Ensure differentiation and challenge.
  • Boards display students’ work with rubric expectations.
  • Support HODs and Head of Middle and High School in Examination procedures
  • Ensure every teacher in your section is improving by discussing weak teaching with HODs and the Head of Middle and High School
  • Report Weak teaching, Weak outcomes, and weak class control management to HODs and heads of Middle and High School
  • Email concerns in walkthroughs to HODs, CC Head of 6-12, Vice Principal, & Principal.
  • Support the Head of Middle & High.
  • Maintain discipline in the section; supporting transition between periods, supporting dismissal, setting duty schedules for teachers, and following them up.
  • Follow up on students’ attendance and lateness
  • Work hand in hand with social workers to maintain students’ good behavior, safety, and wellbeing. The school has rigorous procedures for the safeguarding of students including child protection. All staff, students, and parents are fully aware of these. The school is highly effective in protecting students from abuse, including bullying, and via the internet and social media.
  • Set meetings to address areas of concern or to celebrate positives in your section.
  • Maintain Professional Composure and apply the AWPS Code of Conduct.
  • Think Outstanding for Students
  • Support in planning extra-curricular activities that promote safe and healthy lifestyles 
  • Support in planning school-wide events to foster understanding of Islamic values, and raise awareness of Emirati and world cultures 
  • Support teaching staff in creating opportunities for community involvement, volunteering, and social contribution 
  • Ensure Full SPEA COVID Compliance to ensure safety protocols for staff and students.
  • Ensure safety for staff and students. (Support in conducting fire drills)
  • Students are proactive and responsible members of the school and wider communities. As volunteers, students purposefully and frequently initiate and lead activities. Their social contributions have positive effects on the wider community
