Theory of Knowledge Teacher / Psychology Teacher
The Madison International School, Country Merida, opens the position for an IB Theory of Knowledge (TOK) / Psychology teacher with the following responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, and teach a rigorous and challenging TOK course that lasts the two years of the Diploma Programme.
- Work collaboratively and reflectively with DP subject teachers to help them integrate the Theory of Knowledge into their unit plans and lessons.
- Know both the essay and presentation assessment lcvhzowzrfo and have confidence in marking standards.
- Encourage and support students in the writing of the Extended Essay and the TOK essay.
- Work with the DP and HS coordinators to administer the IB assessment and local requirements.
- Work with the High school Leadership group to monitor student progress.
- Collaborate with High School duties as well as school activities and events.
- As a Psychology Teacher you will be in charge of guiding students (the interested ones) through their applications to universities outside Mexico. This task sometimes requires building school profiles in university portals, submitting official information for students' applications in various portals, and making sure recommendation letters and transcripts are ordered and submitted on time.
- Helping students to have the necessary information to apply to their desired Unis (e.g HL subject requirements, predicted grades.
- Keeping track of students' university applications (Mexico or abroad) is also expected (for internal use and statistics)
- HS hosts an international universities fair once a year, the counselor follows up with the agency that helps MIS bring this Unis and deals with internal organizations for this specific event (e.g. communication, timetables)
