Qualifications:

  • Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in this field.
  • Valid certifications and 2 references must be provided.

Job Overview:

As a Special Needs Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse communication challenges. Your expertise will help children develop essential speech, language, and social communication skills, empowering them to express themselves confidently and effectively.

In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and provide individualized intervention plans tailored to each student’s unique needs. Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other specialists, you will create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Assessment & Placement – Screen, test, and place students into the Speech/Language Therapy program, completing all required paperwork and setting IEP objectives.
  • Progress Monitoring – Keep parents and teachers informed about student progress and compile monthly reports for students receiving SLP services.
  • IEP Implementation – Plan and execute individualized therapy based on each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  • Scheduling & Caseload Management – Organize caseloads and ensure timely speech and language interventions.
  • Documentation & Reporting – Maintain student SLP files, prepare interim progress reports, and ensure all records are updated by the end of the academic year.
  • Teacher Support: Act as a resource for teachers, offering assistance with planning classroom language development activities.
  • Professional Development – Design and lead workshops for staff and parents on communication development and disorders.
  • School Engagement – Participate in meetings, assemblies, and school events such as Sports Day, Graduation, and Concerts.
  • Equipment & Inventory – Assist in ordering and maintaining therapy materials and equipment.
  • Legal & Ethical Compliance – Adhere to local policies, legal guidelines, and ethical standards in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Parent & Staff Collaboration – Work closely with parents and school staff to address communication needs that impact learning.
  • Screening & Referral – Conduct screenings and manage referrals to ensure students receive appropriate services.
  • Confidentiality – Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all matters relating to students and the school.

  • Support literacy and language development for students with communication disorders across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Since 1996, Dasman Bilingual School in Sharq has been enriching the lives of its students, their families, and the community by providing high quality, bilingual education in a safe and positive learning environment, which fosters the academic, social, spiritual and moral development of each child.
