Position Overview:
The Vice-Principal is an experienced and certificated administrator responsible for providing support as required to the Principal in his or her role as the school’s primary leader. As such, the Vice-Principal will work with the Principal to define the scope of work, operating practices and reporting.
The Vice-Principal acts in the Principal’s stead when the Principal is out of the school.
This position if considered as a learning journey for the incumbent seeking a future opportunity to assume a Principalship.
Specific Duties:
The vice-principals specific duties, subject to the Principal’s agreement, include, generically, the following:
- program delivery and performance support for teachers and support staff;
- assistance with the Principal with staff performance appraisal processes;
- assistance with teacher and support staff work issues;
- management of student behavior concerns directly with students;
- communication with parents regarding student performance and behavior issues;
- assistance with instructional scheduling;
- analysis and interpretation of assessment data to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction;
- assistance with planning and delivery of school events including field trips and extended excursions;
- such other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.
Reporting:
The Vice-Principal reports directly to the Principal who is responsible for the determination of duties and annual performance appraisal.
The Canadian International School of Egypt is home to students from Pre-School to Grade 12. Graduation from CISE provides its students with the Canadian “Ontario Secondary School Diploma.” CISE is listed on the Ontario Ministry of Education website as an Overseas Private School. The education curriculum is delivered in the same manner as if the school were in Toronto or Canada’s capital, Ottawa.
