Education, training, and qualifications:
- Appropriate degree, with secondary education and IBDP teacher training recognized worldwide, in Hong Kong or the UK, or other equivalent teaching qualification giving QTS.
- Working experience and knowledge of the IB DP Curriculum.
- Evidence of relevant and challenging continuing professional development.
Knowledge and experience:
- Effective implementation of learning and teaching strategies to achieve appropriately set teaching objectives that are in line with curriculum goals.
- Understanding of how children at the ages of secondary schooling develop and learn.
- Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and well-being of children, by all relevant safeguarding policies and practices.
- Knowledge and experience of how to use IT effectively in promoting pupil learning.
- Previous experience or knowledge of working with pupils for whom English is not their first language, or with pupils at secondary level, is a bonus.
- Effective communication and engagement with parents.
- Previous experience in teaching children is necessary, whether under teacher employment (preferred) or teacher training (for fresh graduates).
