Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching in a Middle or High School / experiencia ensenando en secundaria o bachillerato. 
  • Teaching certification in the relevant subject area.
  • Experience  as a curriculum coordinator, preferably in a secondary education setting.

  • Vacation bonus. Payment is equivalent to 25% of 12 vacation days at the end of every working year.
  • Housing at ASFC Staff Residencies (furnished apartment, Water, and WIFI are included, equivalent to MXN 9,000)
  • 100% Scholarship for all dependent children, as long they pass admission tests. (Scholarship does not cover institutional fees, school uniforms, books, supplies, and PTA charges)
  • Salary: MXN monthly before tax.

​​​​​​General Objective Of The Position:

  • Play a central role in leading the development, implementation, and improvement of the academic programming for grades 6-12.  
  • This requires careful planning, coordination, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure and assist in the application process to become an MYP school.  Into our educational programs.
  • Lead and organize the implementation of the School Program to obtain IB Certification for MYP if appropriate within the designated section.

Daily:

  • Collaborate with teachers and other relevant staff to align the Academic goals
  • with the school's overall educational objectives.
  • Stay informed about educational trends, research, and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing support for teachers to implement curriculum changes effectively.

Weekly:

  • Review unit and lesson plans, providing constructive feedback to teachers.
  • Conduct class observations, offering feedback to enhance instructional practices.
  • Preview new instructional materials and coordinate pilot programs with teachers.

Monthly:

  • Lead the creation, review, update, and implementation of the Upper School curriculum.
  • Ensure alignment with national and international standards and best educational practices.
  • Lead teacher training sessions to foster professional growth.
  • Develop a comprehensive plan for the successful integration of the MYP framework into the designated section.
  • Study and evaluate new instructional techniques, recommending their implementation when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the organization of  PD day, as well as the PD general activities.   Quarter or trimester (evaluation period) 
  • Create and implement an educational plan tailored to meet the needs of Upper School students.
  • Gather and analyze data to inform instructional decisions and school improvement initiatives.

Annual:

  • Compile final grades, write year-end comments, conduct classroom inventory, and organize student portfolios.
  • Reflect on the academic year, plan for summer professional development, and facilitate teacher-led and student-led conferences.
  • Provide reports and presentations on curriculum outcomes to school administrators and stakeholders

Event:

  • Attend after-hours school events, engage in professional development, and participate in social service initiatives.
  • Supervise extracurricular activities, plan parent engagement activities, and collaborate with external organizations.
  • Participation in civil protection exercises and activities.
  • Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to stay connected with other academic coordinators.
  • Build a professional network for sharing ideas, resources, and experiences.

The person who holds the position must comply with the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation, review, update, and implementation of the Upper School curriculum.
  • Ensure alignment with national and international standards and best educational practices.
  • "Curriculum Development: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the middle/high school curriculum and educational standards. Integrate innovative teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities."
  • "Individualized Instruction: Differentiate instruction to address the diverse needs of students and ensure all learners reach their full potential. Collaborate with special education staff to support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)."
  • "Technology Integration: Incorporate educational technology tools and resources to enhance the learning experience. Foster digital literacy skills and responsible technology use among students."
  • "Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, including grade-level teams and subject-area departments, to share best practices and promote a cohesive educational experience."
  • "Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay informed about the latest educational research, trends, and pedagogical approaches."
  • "Extracurricular Involvement: Actively participate in or lead extracurricular activities, clubs, or committees that contribute to the overall school community."
  • "Continual Self-Reflection: Engage in reflective practices to continually assess and improve teaching methods and classroom effectiveness."
  • "Adherence to Policies: Adhere to school policies, procedures, and professional ethical standards."
