The American International School of Bamako is an independent college-preparatory day school offering a dynamic, student-centered educational program for students from Pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Current enrollment is about 130 students. Our student body is fully international and includes students representing more than 17 nationalities. AISB graduates attend fine colleges and universities around the world. AISB is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) and is a full member of the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA).

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile educator to fill a combined role of Middle School (MS) Generalist and Elementary/Middle School Reading Specialist. The ideal candidate will be capable of teaching MS ESOL, MS General Science (NGSS Standards) and MS Social Studies (Pre-AP World History and Geography) at the middle school level (grades 6-8), while also providing differentiated small-group reading instruction to elementary students (grades K-5). This position requires a strong background in both content-area teaching and literacy development, with a focus on advancing reading skills and fostering a love of learning.

Campus

AISB’s new campus opened in 2011 and is set on 5 hectares overlooking the beautiful Niger River. Our bright, inviting classrooms surround courtyard gardens. The campus outdoor areas include landscaped grounds with playground equipment, two swimming pools, gardens, covered areas, a soon-to-be-covered ball court, and athletics fields.

Our Elementary wing is composed of spacious classrooms, play, and garden spaces. The Secondary wing comprises classrooms, a science lab, a workout room, and student lounge, and study areas. The Arts wing includes two computer labs, the library, a maker space, our performing and visual arts facilities, a large events terrace overlooking the river, and a catering kitchen for lunch service.

The campus offers wireless Internet access throughout.
