About BASIS International School Hangzhou:
BASIS International School Hangzhou opened in 2018, and was the first BASIS International School in China outside of Guangdong province. The school welcomes students in Grades Pre-K – 12 and celebrated its first graduates in 2022. Our faculty team is made up of teachers and administrators from around the world, bringing diverse perspectives and experiences to our community. We embrace a growth mindset, enhanced by our campus location in Qiangjiang New Town District where modern city development and areas of natural beauty and historical significance meet. Nearby high-speed trains make traveling to other cities, such as Shanghai, easy and convenient.
Our Primary School teachers adopt a collaborative, co-teaching approach to enhance student engagement and learning opportunities. Together, you cultivate a joyful and rigorous learning culture that celebrates hard work and where intellectual pursuit leads to exceptional student outcomes.
As a Humanities Subject Expert Teacher, you establish a strong foundation of language and social science skills and knowledge. This includes Language Arts topics including beginnings of reading and writing, reading comprehension, writing process, and much more. Humanities topics include world history, American history, and beginnings of geographic awareness. You also collaborate with fellow teachers to tie in lessons with what students are learning in other subjects, such as music and art.
You will also:

- Guide students in pursuing academic achievement, personal responsibility, and intellect
- Pursue continuous professional growth by participating in ongoing professional development, collaborating with colleagues, and staying informed on the latest educational techniques and best practices in your field
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative school community
