Aldar Education is seeking a High-Level Teaching Assistant/Culture and Heritage Facilitator (UAE National) for Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing immediately.
Muna British Academy is in the heart of the city of Abu Dhabi and was recently rated ‘Outstanding’ by ADEK - Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) Serving over 700 students from Nursery to year 6, we follow the National Curriculum of England. The school is a vibrant community.

Job Purpose:
To work as part of the team in supporting students' learning in the classroom and also work alongside the Assistant Principal and Heritage to promote local culture and heritage across the school.
General Responsibilities:
With the School Staff:
- Assist the school in achieving its overall vision and strategic intentions and contribute to the achievement of relevant targets as set out in the school’s improvement plan and self-evaluation form.
- To embody the values, vision, and ethos of Muna British Academy and assist the Senior Leadership Team in delivering policy that will ensure high quality and successful outcomes for all teaching programs within the phase.
- Comply with regulations about health and safety at work legislation and adhere to school policies relating to safe working practices and equal opportunities regulations.
- Engage in annual training linked to child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety, together with all training deemed appropriate for school improvement or performance management.
- Comply with the school’s staff dress code at all times, including the wearing of photo ID/lanyard.
- Comply with the school’s computer Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) at all times.
- Support SLT in promoting UAE heritage and cultural values across the school, meeting with staff to offer support on this, where required.
With the Student:
- To develop an understanding of the Additional Educational Needs (AEN) /Special Educational Needs of the student/s concerned.
- To take into account the student/s’ diverse needs and ensure their access to the lesson and its content through appropriate clarification, explanations, equipment, and materials.
- To build and maintain successful relationships with the student(s), treat them consistently, with respect and consideration.
- To help reinforce learning and promote/embed UAE cultural values and culture within learning.
- To help promote independent learning.
- To assist students with physical needs.
- To help students appropriately record work.
- To develop study and organizational skills.
- To help keep the students on task and to build motivation.
- To model good practice.
- To help build the student/s’ confidence and enhance self-esteem.
- To maintain liaison with parents regarding student(s) performance, where appropriate.
With the Teacher/Phase Leader:
- To have formal and informal meetings about Teaching and Learning plans for the lesson/activities.
- To prepare materials and resources as required.
- To prepare students beforehand for a task.
- To work on differentiated activities with identified groups.
- To support the teacher in implementing specific teaching techniques.
- To supervise practical tasks.
- To be involved in keeping records on evaluating the progress of identified students
- Support the AP in implementing various initiatives to promote UAE heritage and culture learning environments within the phase.
- To ensure effective communication with families about the UAE heritage and culture and the benefits of focusing on this.
- Be a role model to other UAE national staff and suggest interventions for promoting UAE national retention in the school.
