Job Description:

EGA's Grade 4 & 5 Math and Science Teacher plays a crucial role in developing students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry skills through the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework. The teacher creates an engaging, hands-on learning environment that fosters conceptual understanding and real-world application of mathematics and science.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Implementation: Deliver inquiry-based Math and Science lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework, integrating transdisciplinary learning where applicable.
Conceptual Understanding: Teach students core mathematical concepts (e.g., number sense, problem-solving, data analysis, geometry) and scientific inquiry (e.g., physical, life, and earth sciences).
Hands-on Learning: Incorporate STEM activities, experiments, real-world applications, and technology to enhance student engagement.
Assessment & Feedback: Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress, provide feedback, and guide instruction.
Differentiation & Support: Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including EAL (English as an Additional Language) students.
Classroom Environment: Foster a safe, collaborative, and inquiry-driven classroom where students take ownership of their learning.
Technology Integration: Utilize educational technology, digital tools, and interactive resources to support learning.
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with colleagues, specialists, and parents to support student learning and well-being.
Safeguarding & Well-being: Ensure student safety and well-being by adhering to school safeguarding policies.

About the School:

BACKGROUND

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is Canadian leadership led IB PYP accredited school, an IB MYP Candidate, and a CIS member school that offers an advanced education model in Doha, Qatar in addition to the Qatari Curriculum for the Arabic Language, Islamic, and Social Studies. As of the academic year 2025/2026, we provide schooling to Pre-KG to Grade 10 students, and we plan for natural growth up to grade 12 in successive years.

SCHOOL CAMPUS

The school operates out of a purposely built campus situated on a 60,000 square meter land plot in the Northside of Doha. As of the academic year 2024/2025, our enrolment is 1,850 students; however, the school campus' total enrolment capacity is 4,650 students.
