About the School- Gimnasio del Norte:
We are a school with more than 40 years of experience in education, where each student is the protagonist of their learning. We have an international curriculum that develops bilingualism and academic excellence. Gimnasio del Norte is located in the city of Valledupar, in the beautiful Colombian Caribbean.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the holistic learning process that involves human, emotional, and academic aspects for all students of the preschool cycle.
The schools in the Cognita network and the other companies in the business group and/or related companies are always committed to protecting and promoting the well-being of the children and adolescents in their care and expect that all employees, volunteers, and third parties share this commitment. Safe Recruitment policies will be carried out before confirming any hire.
The Gimnasio del Norte was founded in 1977 thanks to the initiative of a group of people headed by its current Principal Director, Ricardo Pérez Arciniegas, a teacher, architect, and mathematician.
The overall development of the school has been harmonious, with the determined support of the parents, the contribution of the teachers, the workers, and the collaboration of the students. A large part of the first building was built by self-construction, with the active participation of all members of the community.
All the ideals on which it was created have been consolidated and remain a reality. The innovative programs seek the development of the student in the human, social, technical, artistic, and sports fields; the unique methodology, the discipline system, that is, its entire scheme is cohesive.
This framework is the result of an interest in developing the principles outlined, refined through personal experience, and with the active participation of all. Likewise, this process has allowed us to create new and fruitful relationships with other educational institutions belonging to the International Baccalaureate Organization.
Since 1978, Gimnasio del Norte has trained young people who are prepared to face the challenges of global society and ready to positively impact their surroundings. At our school, we all learn to live.
