- 5+ years of experience in a boarding school environment
- 3+ years of experience managing boarding operations
- Strong pastoral and interpersonal skills and experience
- Deep understanding of boarding student needs and experience creating programs to meet the needs of student

About BASIS International & Bilingual Schools Chengdu
BASIS International & Bilingual Schools Chengdu opened in 2022 and serves students in Grades Pre-K – 11, with courses eventually being offered through Grade 12 and a capacity of over 1,800 students. This beautiful campus is our first to house both an international and bilingual curriculum in one location. Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province—home to famous historic sites, cuisine, and culture. Our school is located in a new, high-tech area in the southwest of the city, convenient to the airport and with plenty of green space.
About the Position
As the Director of Boarding, you will continue to grow and develop our week-day boarding program, including enhancing the existing House system, training and supervising boarding staff, communicating with parents and ensuring the boarding program is a rich aspect of campus life. The Director of Boarding is responsible for implementing and enforcing all policies, procedures, and practices of the boarding department, as well as collaborating with other school leaders to further enhance the boarding program.
Opening in fall 2022, BASIS International/Bilingual School Chengdu will serve students in grades Pre-K – 10, and will eventually expand to offer courses through Grade 12, with a capacity of over 1,800 students. This campus will be our first to house both an international and bilingual curriculum in one location. The school’s facilities will include state-of-the-art classrooms, cafeteria, library, gymnasium, science labs, and plenty of outdoor space.
Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province--home to famous historic sites, cuisine, and culture. Our school will be located in a new area of Chengdu, a high-tech area in the southwest of the city. The master-planned location will include plenty of green space, and is convenient to the Chengdu airport as well.
