Responsibilities of the post of Assessment Coordinator:
- To create thought-provoking and impactful learning and teaching technologies in collaboration with our teachers and students. This is based on a blend of technology and cognitive science, sparking innovative solutions.
- To provide and implement an overarching plan to ensure that assessment is consistent, rigorous, and complies with all KHDA (internal and external) requirements.
- Ensures MAP data is analyzed and reported accurately to teachers, leaders, and the KHDA.
- To embed high-quality assessment and tracking systems across all phases and curriculum subjects in the US school.
- Monitor, review, and evaluate the impact of these systems to ensure that the highest standards are consistently maintained.
- Meets weekly with the department leaders and conducts daily lesson observation and coaching sessions to build staff capacity.
- Ensure that assessment data is accurate, reliable, and valid through the design and implementation of efficient and effective moderation and quality assurance processes.
- To provide assessment training, coaching, and mentoring for staff as required to further improve their pedagogical practice.
- Raising overall achievement and students’ personal development in secondary school, specifically focusing on standards, progress over time, and behavior for learning.
- Works closely with registration to ensure incoming students take the MAP Screener and reports results to leaders and teachers to allow teachers to personalize learning.
- Coordinate with SENDCO to administrate assessments and ensure accommodations are in place for students with IEPs taking required assessments.
- Coordinate with the technology department to set up testing requirements for any online assessments.
- Facilitate any required assessment training, handling of testing materials, scheduling of testing locations, and purchasing of testing incentives.
- Work with SLT and MLT to identify professional development needs associated with assessment and data analysis.
- Work with SLT and MLT to schedule continuous professional development throughout the school year.
- Provide assessment training when appropriate.
- Undertake additional or other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post and as directed and deemed appropriate by the principal.
