About Newton College

Newton College was founded in 1979, operating in two rented houses in San Isidro with a total student roll of 240. In 1980 we moved to our beautiful campus of 11 hectares, situated right next to a lake and at the foothills of the Andes Mountains in the Lima suburb of La Molina, 15 kilometers east of the Pacific Ocean.

We are a Peruvian-British school located on a beautiful campus next to a lake. We deliver the programs of the International Baccalaureate and aim “to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect” (IB mission). Our curriculum encourages all pupils to contribute to the well-being of their local and global communities so that they become “well-rounded and successful citizens” (our school mission).

We are inspired by tradition and driven by innovation. Our study center in the Amazon Rainforest is unique and reflects our commitment to education for sustainable development.

Our Values:

In 2004 we formulated seven school values that governed our mission, vision, and the implementation of our curriculum across the school. However, the world has evolved at a very fast pace since then and so we have updated our values, which we believe need to be reinforced in our local and global community to reflect those changes.

Vision:

"To be recognized worldwide for our academic excellence and educational style"

Mission:

"We are a Peruvian-British school committed to developing the full potential of our students for them to become well-rounded and successful citizens"
