About Alison Bixby Stone School

[Alison Bixby Stone School]

The Alison Bixby Stone School (ABSS) is a K-6 bilingual school that is expanding this year to 7th grade and plans to grow up to 9th grade in the future. ABSS is located on the campus of the Pan American School of Agriculture, in the Zamorano Valley, 30 kilometers east of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Since 2006, ABSS is accredited by SACS. In 2014, the accreditation was renewed, and acknowledged for two powerful practices: its community-wide commitment to the school’s social mission and its high-quality professional development program.

Today, ABSS continues to fulfill its mission to ensure that children from all socio-economic backgrounds can access the high-quality education it provides by maintaining low tuition rates and by providing scholarships.

In addition, the school’s professional development program provides teachers with on-going opportunities to learn, collaborate, and grow.
