Required Qualifications:

  • Passion for serving God in the context of education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with English Emphasis
  • ACSI certification or ability to obtain
  • Experience teaching US curriculum at the secondary level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of successful teaching experience
  • AP certification or ability to obtain AP certification
  • Prior experience in an international school
  • Master’s Degree in Education or English
  • Understanding of Common Core Standards and Advanced Placement
  • Experience with English Language Learners
  • USA state teacher certification
  • Proffesioanl developement allowance
  • Health Insurance

Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Teaches assigned ELA courses
  • Collaborates with department, high school team, and administration around student progress
  • Prepares students for AP exams
  • Completes and implements effective lessons and teaching strategies
  • Follows grading policies
  • Uses data from NWEA MAP and benchmark assessments to guide instruction and support students
  • Follows the curriculum map and standards for each course and grade level
  • Prepares students for university-level English in reading and writing
  • Follows discipline system and uses PBIS, Love & Logic, and Restorative Practices
  • Other duties and courses as assigned
