Highly focused on academic outcomes, the Head of Primary Programs is responsible for establishing student support programs that lead to exceptional student outcomes. Through elevated expectations of student capabilities and a willingness to ensure that all students have the support they need to be successful, this person will take a data driven approach to assessing the needs of the students and allocate the resources needed to enhance the students’ educational experience.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate primary academic programs to support students in situations relating to social integration in/out of the classroom
Instruct teachers on child development best practices
Create procedures for extreme behavior occurrences
Monitor parent communications
Manage parent expectations
Create procedures for collecting or organizing substitute plans and recruit Teachers and Teaching Fellows for substitute duty which the Curriculum Coordinator then manages

About the School:

Opening in fall 2022, BASIS International/Bilingual School Chengdu will serve students in grades Pre-K â 10, and will eventually expand to offer courses through Grade 12, with a capacity of over 1,800 students. This campus will be our first to house both an international and bilingual curriculum in one location. The schoolâs facilities will include state-of-the-art classrooms, cafeteria, library, gymnasium, science labs, and plenty of outdoor space.

Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province--home to famous historic sites, cuisine, and culture. Our school will be located in a new area of Chengdu, a high-tech area in the southwest of the city. The master-planned location will include plenty of green space, and is convenient to the Chengdu airport as well.
