Teach Away’s Teacher Certification Program Proves the Importance of Quality Teacher Preparation Programs.
On November 19th in a Hawai’i Teacher Standards Board meeting, NBI 21-17 was adopted. A whoop of excitement rose from the screens as our Teach Away TCP team celebrated this incredible milestone.
Teach Away’s Teacher Certification Program in the State of Hawai’i had been awarded the full seven-year accreditation by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP).
This was huge.
It means that Teach Away is a member in good standing of the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP), a national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Full accreditation acknowledges that a program prepares effective educators who continue to grow as professionals and has demonstrated the commitment and capacity to maintain quality.
Accredited programs receive many honors, including a certificate of accreditation, as well as the honor of being listed on the HTSB’s website.
Quality education matters.
Since its genesis, Teach Away’s Teacher Certification Program has strived to prepare quality educators for classrooms across the United States and beyond.
Founded on the belief that every child deserves to experience the power of a great teacher, TCP not only seeks to certify unlicensed teachers in the states of Hawai’i and Arizona but to train teachers of a high caliber.
We believe that the quality of teaching our teacher candidates provide will directly impact their students’ learning, which is why full accreditation from AAQEP is a badge we wear proudly.
Training great teachers for the classroom.
Teach Away’s Teacher Certification Program allows unlicensed and aspiring educators to gain their teaching license.
Not only does the program qualify successful graduates to legally work as a teacher, but it also provides key skills and pedagogy to help teachers prepare for their classroom.
Becoming a licensed teacher is one thing, but becoming a great teacher is another.
With TCP, we seek to develop teachers who are globally competent, professionally curious, culturally aware, digitally adept, and reflective practitioners – along with ones who are passionate and dedicated to their craft!
As Hawai’i and Arizona are two states that are facing the worst teacher shortages in the US, TCP is offering a tangible solution to infuse quality education into those regions.
As we work towards better education for students across America, we are starting at the foundation – with the teachers who are on the front lines of education.
Because we know that highly effective educators are desperately needed and our students can’t wait.
