Job Description

Azerbaijan British College (ABC) is an independent, secular, coeducational, British-style through-school located in the beautiful capital city of Baku, on the shore of the Caspian Sea. ABC is accredited by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan. We are also a fully accredited school by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the British Council of International Schools (COBIS). We are licensed to offer a range of qualifications from the two largest International Examination Boards, Cambridge International Assessment (CIA) and Edexcel.

  • You will be refunded the amount of up to 600 USD for economy class air tickets yearly. Also, the following amounts will be reimbursed for economy class air tickets for your family members each year (subject to the presentation of official proof of kinship). For children 0-2 years old - 100 USD; for children 2-12 years old - 400 USD; for children aged 12-18 and spouse - 600 USD.
  • There is a 100% reduction on school fees for the first dependent child and a 70% discount for other children;
  • 30 days paid summer vacation, Lunch, Transportation, On-site fitness;

Required:

Discreet, and able to keep confidential information that is private and personal; Good organization and leadership skills with attention to detail; A “Can do approach” to teamwork and a strong sense of commitment; Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, and students; British teaching qualification (e.g. BEd/PGCE) with QTS; Minimum of 5 years teaching practice and middle leader responsibilities; Intercultural communication skills; International experience in similar institutions; Familiarity with best practice and what constitutes a good school lesson’; Resilient and collaborative leadership style.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status/Licensed Teacher essential
  • NPQ Senior Leader qualifications desirable
  • Experience of successful leadership in education
  • Recent extensive relevant teaching experience
  • The requirements for performance management in schools
  • Skills – self-management, leadership, and management of people include the ability to:
  • Prioritize, plan and organize
  • Work as part of a team
  • Devolve responsibilities, delegate tasks, and monitor practice to see that they are being carried out
  • Seek advice and support when necessary
  • Demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities
  • Communicate effectively
  • Work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Use ICT to enhance school improvement

Preferred:

  • A Master's in School Management
  • Five years or more of relevant work experience at the overall management level in a medium-sized or large school, preferably within the private sector
  • Three years or more of relevant international experience
