Due to a rapid increase in student enrolment, we have a February 2025 opening for an ambitious Grade 6 Homeroom Teacher who can inspire and motivate our students! Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver lessons that align with the Alberta Education curriculum for English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, using student-centered teaching practices that support the development of language acquisition.
- Prepare English Language Learners for success by closing learning gaps.
- Implement standards-based grading and reporting principles to provide accurate and meaningful feedback to students and parents.
- Utilize inquiry-based learning strategies to engage students and enhance their understanding of English Language Arts concepts.
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student learning and encourages open communication and collaboration.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to develop and implement cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as coaching teams, clubs, field trips, and school events.
- Attend professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in teaching.
